What Is an Herbal Consultation?

In an herbal consultation, our role is to help you understand what your body is communicating and how to invite it back into balance. Through thoughtful conversation and a simple questionnaire, we look at the whole picture of your lifeโ€”your nourishment, environment, daily rhythms, mindset, and emotionsโ€”because each plays a part in your wellbeing.

Rather than covering up symptoms, we listen to the story your body is telling and use that wisdom as a guide toward deeper insight and practical, sustainable shiftsโ€”what we like to call live-in solutions.

Please note: An herbalist is not a medical doctor or licensed healthcare provider. Their work is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any disease. The purpose of an herbal consultation is to offer guidance and support as you explore your own unique path to healing.

What Can You Expect at Your First Herbal Consultation?

While consultations will vary based on your herbalist, most visits begin with an in-depth questionnaire covering your past and current health history, dietary habits, lifestyle practices, and other factors related to your wellbeing.

This is followed by a 60โ€“90 minute appointment, during which you and your herbalist will explore your specific needs and the whole personโ€”body, mind, spirit, and environment.

From there, you may receive a personalized wellness plan that can include:

  • Daily lifestyle habits
  • Nutrition guidance (whole foods, herbs, or supplements)
  • Herbal products to consider
  • Supportive protocols
  • Books or educational resources

Cost

A comprehensive one-hour consultation is $150.

Kylie Prouty

Kylie is an herbalist, wellness educator, wild seeker, homebirth and intuitive momma, nature enthusiast, and student of the earth. She is passionate about weaving nourishing, nutrient-dense foods, herbal medicine, and seasonal rhythms into daily life.

Her journey began in 2012 during pregnancy with her first daughter, when she realized that everything she put in and on her body would directly affect another life. That moment awakened a lifelong commitment to learning, listening, and living in deeper relationship with the natural world.

Kylie completed her formal herbal education through SW Herb in Mesa, Arizona, taking every class available and apprenticing under Kathy Gould and Madalyn Johnson. Working in the shop gave her hands-on experience helping others find plant-based remedies for real-life issues, while deepening her understanding of ancestral food practices, circadian rhythm, environmental influences, EMFs, pharmaceuticals, and how sunlight, sleep, movement, nourishment, and emotion shape our health.

Much of her work is informed by lived experienceโ€”her own health challenges and those of her familyโ€”and the realization that conventional care often fails to address root causes. Through Valley to Rim Wellness, Kylie offers herbal products, one-on-one consultations, and educational resources grounded in the belief that we are nature, and when we return to its rhythms, healing becomes possible.

She draws deep inspiration from the land between the Phoenix Valley and the Mogollon Rim, where dramatic shifts in terrain mirror the cycles of growth, challenge, and renewal. That stretch of land is where her relationship with plants deepened and her path as an herbalist truly began.

Today, Kylie continues to share herbal recipes, wildcraft findings, nourishing meals, trusted products, and simple rhythms that help others return to balanceโ€”walking alongside clients from valley to rim, and back again.

Brenna Membrila

Brenna Membrila is a family herbal practitioner, birth keeper, and sovereign mother devoted to tending women, children, and families through a whole-istic lens. Her work is rooted in the Vitalist tradition of herbalism, honoring the innate intelligence of the body and the mirrored wisdom of the plants.

Alongside her professional training, Brenna carries deep lived experience healing from lifelong autoimmune diagnoses and symptoms. After being told her body would always be limited, she reclaimed trust in the bodyโ€™s natural design through ancestral nourishment, herbal protocols, and deep inner listeningโ€”finding relief from long-standing challenges related to thyroid health, adrenals, hormones, leaky gut, and autoimmunity.

Over the past five years, Brenna has cultivated a practice centered in deep listening, ancestral knowledge, and sovereignty in health. Her work draws from experience in apothecaries, one-on-one consultations, community classes, and birth work. She has walked alongside many women through birth, loss, chronic illness, postpartum transformation, and renewalโ€”always honoring the bodyโ€™s intelligence and the stories it holds.

Brennaโ€™s approach weaves physiology, intuitive wisdom, plant energetics, and ancestral nourishment. She believes wellness begins with rememberingโ€”how to tend ourselves, our families, and our homes with simplicity, reverence, and inner authority.

As a birth keeper, Brenna walks outside conventional systems with integrity and care, offering grounded presence during lifeโ€™s most sacred thresholds. Her sessions are held as invitations to return home to the body, the earth, and the wild intelligence within.

Her offerings include (but are not limited to):

  • Herbal consultations and follow-ups
  • Nutritional guidance
  • Medical astrology readings
  • Birth trauma debriefs
  • Birth support
